How to Replace the Timing Belt

Model: Porsche Boxster 986, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004

This video demonstrates the procedure to change the timing belt in just a few minutes on a Porsche Boxster. Using a 24 mm socket wrench, loosen the tensioner pulley and, at the same time, pull out the old belt. Now take the new belt and position it on the camshaft gear and the tensioner pulley. Be careful not to bend the new belt too much when positioning it. Now loosen the tensioner pulley again and tension the belt on the third and final pulley. The belt should be taut. To verify proper operation, start the engine and check its functionality.
