How to re-associate a Renault key with our Clio II

The video shows how to associate an existing key with the car. This is necessary if the key stops working to open and close the doors remotely (so it no longer controls the control unit) but still starts the engine. This happens if the parity between the command and the control unit is lost (for example, due to interference). Sit in the driver's seat and close the door, insert the key into the ignition without turning it. Press and hold the lock button on the remote control, and keep it pressed for about 10 seconds, then release the button. Try pressing the lock and unlock button: the key should have relearned the code, and now it works correctly. This procedure does not program the transponder, so if it does not start the engine, a mechanic with diagnostic tool is needed, but it only works to make the remote lock/unlock buttons work.
