How to replace the rear shocks on a Renault Clio III

Let's see how to replace the rear shock absorbers of the Renault Clio III: loosen the wheel nuts, lift the car and remove the wheel. Unscrew the upper nut: in the trunk, lift the mat, and you will find a plastic cap that hides the top of the shock absorber. Open it and inside you will find a nut that needs to be completely unscrewed. Under the car, locate the lower bolt that secures the base of the shock absorber to the rear arm. This bolt is often very tight and may be rusted. It is advisable to spray a loosening agent and use a lever to loosen it. At this point, the shock absorber is free. It may be necessary to slightly compress it to remove it from its seat. We can find the new shock absorbers on E-Bay with the code 177317176467 at the price of 102.36 euros with free delivery. Clean the mounting seat, especially the lower one, align the new shock absorber and insert the lower bolt, screwing it by hand; then do the same with the upper one. With the shock absorber installed but the car still lifted, tighten the lower bolt to 70/90 Nm and the upper one to 25/40 Nm. Put the trunk back in place, remount the wheel, lower the car and tighten the nuts. Remember that shock absorbers are always replaced in pairs.
