How to change engine oil and filter on Renault Trafic II
Model: Renault Trafic
MK 2
- Years 2001-2014
To change the oil on the Renault Trafic II, we open the hood, lift the front of the car, and then open the oil filler cap to facilitate draining. We place a large container under the drain plug of the oil pan and open it. We let the used oil drain out, which we will dispose of properly, along with the filter, at an authorized center. We will need another container under the filter, located on the right side of the engine, at the top. We clean the filter seat thoroughly with a cloth and apply a thin layer of oil to the gasket of the new filter and screw it back on by hand. We put a new bolt and gasket on the oil pan and lower the car back to the ground. We pour about 90% of the recommended oil quantity into the filler cap. We start the engine for 30 to 60 seconds to fill the filter and then turn it off. We wait a few minutes and check the level, topping it up until we reach the "max" level, being careful never to exceed it.
