Let's see how to change the cabin air filter on a Renault Symbol 1: it is located in the engine compartment, on the passenger side, at the bottom of the windshield, under a plastic cover called the "debris shield." Open the hood, remove the rubber seal that runs along the base of the windshield, then take off the debris shield, which is secured with clips (although in the video it is just lifted). Once the shield is removed, you will see the cabin air filter housing, and using a 6 mm socket, unscrew the screws that hold the cover. Remove the filter, clean the housing, insert the new filter, ensuring the arrows point toward the cabin, and then close the cover. Reinstall the shield and put the rubber seal back in place at the base of the windshield.
