What to Do When the Battery Warning Light Comes On in the Renault Master III

The battery warning light coming on after a few minutes of driving is unfortunately a common issue in the Renault Master. The problem is not the battery, but an intermittent signal from the alternator to the control unit, which makes the system think that the charge is insufficient. The first step is to check the charging voltage with a multimeter, measuring the voltage at the battery terminals: the correct and stable value should be around 14.2 volts. If it drops below this value or fluctuates, then there is a fault with the alternator. However, the core of the problem is the regulation signal from the alternator to the engine control unit: this signal travels on a thin two-wire cable, which carries the 12V power for excitation and the monitoring wire (the green wire in the video). This wire sends the regulation signal to the control unit. In the video, the issue was not the wires, but the connector itself that plugs into the alternator. The pins of the connector were making intermittent contact, causing the signal loss and illuminating the warning lights. Replacing it was sufficient to resolve the issue.
