It is recommended that this repair be carried out with a cold engine first. Then remove all the plastic coverings until you access the timing belt seat; then rotate the crankshaft pulley in order to align the timing references: at this point insert the pulley locking pins to maintain this position during the disassembly and installation phases. Then loosen the tensioner and remove the toothed belt. Given the complexity of the intervention, it is suggested to replace the tensioner, the bearing and the water pump in addition to the belt, even if it does not leak: this is a precautionary replacement that should always be carried out given the low cost of the spare part.
