How to Replace the Diesel Filter on the Renault Clio 4

To replace the diesel filter on the Renault Clio, start by loosening the bolts on the front right wheel; lift the car; remove the wheel by unscrewing the bolts; take off the wheel arch clip using a flat screwdriver and pliers; unscrew the 3 nuts to remove the metal plate protecting the diesel filter; take the filter out of its housing; disconnect the filter hoses; place a container under the filter; remove the water presence sensor by turning the filter counterclockwise, not the sensor, to drain the diesel; disconnect the electrical connector from the filter; unscrew the 5 Torx screws to remove the cartridge support; take off the top plate of the cartridge; remove the top cover using a small flat screwdriver; take out the diesel filter with the help of a small flat screwdriver; remove the gasket from the cover and clean everything. Now take the new gasket for the cover; lubricate it and place it on the cover; position the new filter in the cartridge; take the new gasket for the water presence sensor and place it in the position of the old one; refit the cartridge cover by pressing down with your hands; position the cartridge support; align and screw in the 5 Torx screws for the top plate of the cartridge; refit the water presence sensor by turning the diesel filter clockwise, not the sensor; reconnect the electrical connector; place the filter in its housing; connect the hoses to the filter; refit the oil filter protection plate by tightening the 3 nuts with a 10mm socket; reattach the wheel arch by securing the clips; place the wheel back on and hand-tighten the bolts; lower the car and tighten the wheel bolts. Finally, start the car three times to circulate diesel through the filter.
