Renault Megane - Video tutorial

Model: Renault Megane Megane 1 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Arm
Operation: Drive shaft boot replacement instructions

This system makes it possible to replace the drive shaft boot without disassembling the constant velocity joint: it is however necessary to extract the half shaft from the hub to insert the boot with the special tool which has the shape of a funnel; in reality there is also a headset on the market that can be applied without disassembling anything as it is open and can be glued after applying it. Before even lifting the car, loosen the fixing pins of the wheel and that of the axle shaft; then place the car on suitable car stands to complete the disassembly of the wheel, the brake calliper complete with support, the head of the oscillating arm of the suspension and the bolts fixing the hub to the shock absorber; at this point remove the fixing nut of the drive shaft and extract it from the hub, remove the fixing clamps of the boot and cut it off: Lubricate and insert the new boot on the special tool, overturning it so that it can pass over the constant velocity joint and fix it with the special metal clamps.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
