How to Change the Front Brake Pads on the Renault Megane II

Here’s how to easily change the brake pads on the Renault Megane II: start by opening the brake fluid reservoir cap. You will need to remove the front wheels and lift the vehicle, so get some jack stands to support the vehicle safely, and place the wheels under the vehicle for safety. Pry off the caliper to retract the piston. Then remove the outer spring. Remove the caps from the caliper bolt, then take them off; remove the caliper and take out the pads. Secure the caliper to the suspension spring with a piece of string to avoid damaging the brake hose. Using a wire brush, clean the brake pad support thoroughly. Now, apply copper grease to the outer part of the new pads, which you can now reposition. Refit the caliper by pushing the two caliper bolts. Replace the two caps, then reassemble the spring for the pads. You can now refit the wheel. Repeat on the other side. Remember to screw the brake fluid reservoir cap back on. Operation completed.
