EGR Valve Cleaning Instructions

The most effective way to clean the EGR valve and intake manifold is to disassemble everything and perform a proper wash; there are sprays available on the market that can be injected into the intake duct, after the mass airflow sensor, which help dissolve deposits. I personally advise against this type of procedure as pieces of deposits could break off and end up in the cylinders, potentially blocking the valves. That said, the procedure involves starting the engine, maintaining it at around 2000 RPM, and injecting three to four sprays of the specific cleaner for a few seconds, repeating the process. It is also recommended to add a fuel system cleaner to the tank.
