EGR Valve Cleaning Instructions

The EGR valve functions to reintroduce a small portion of exhaust gases into the intake to reduce NOx emissions. Continuous contact with exhaust gases, which may be contaminated with oil vapours and unburnt diesel, can cause clogging of the valve. Regular cleaning of the valve, ideally during each oil change, will maintain its efficiency. Remove the valve by taking out the pins that secure it to the intake manifold and directly disassembling the flange of the flexible pipe that connects it to the exhaust manifold. Then, wash it with a suitable cleaner and proceed in reverse for installation.
