Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Renault Megane Megane 1 - Years 1995-2003

Before unscrewing the oil drain plug from under the sump, open the filler cap on the rocker cover to facilitate the draining process. Remove the splash guard from under the engine bay and unscrew the drain plug from the oil sump. Once the oil has drained, refit the plug and reattach the splash guard. Access the engine bay to replace the oil filter, using a chain or strap wrench to unscrew it. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with oil and screw it into place without exceeding the specified torque. Fill the engine with clean oil until the maximum level is reached. Dispose of the used oil and filter properly.
