How to remove the instrument cluster from a Volkswagen Golf 4? Follow these steps for removal. Disconnect the plastic trim around the steering wheel (top part) and remove it from the dashboard. Next, detach the trim below the instrument cluster; unscrew the securing screws of the instrument cluster with a screwdriver. After removing the screws, pull the unit out from the dashboard and disconnect the power cable. Install a new unit or replace the LEDs/bulbs in the original cluster and refit it. Finally, reverse the steps taken for reassembly.
