How to Change the Oil and Oil Filter on the Renault Captur

To change the oil and oil filter on the Renault Captur, start by turning off the car, pulling the handbrake, and unscrewing the oil filler cap (in the video, a pre-oil change cleaner is poured; leave the car running for 5 minutes, pour the product, and let the engine idle for 10-15 minutes before turning it off); now lift the front of the car, if present, remove the plastic undertray to access the oil sump bolt, unscrew the bolt with a suitable spanner, let the oil drain into a container for 10 minutes, and clean the oil drain plug before refitting it (also replace the plastic undertray). Now, go to the top of the engine, disconnect the air intake hose by inserting a screwdriver into the gap on the front grille to remove it, detach the hose from the oil filter, unscrew the oil filter (a socket spanner is used in the video), and let the oil drain into a container; take the new filter, lubricate the seal with new oil, screw the filter back on, reposition the hose, and reconnect the air intake hose. Now lower the car, insert a funnel into the oil filler hole, pour in about 90% of the required oil, close the oil filler cap, start the engine for 30 seconds, remove the oil dipstick, clean it, reinsert it, pull it out again, and check the oil level; if necessary, bring the oil level close to the "max" without exceeding it, finally reinsert the dipstick and close the operation is complete.
