How to replace oil and filter on the Renault Megane II.
Model: Renault Megane
Megane 2
- Years 2002-2010
In this video, we can see how to change the engine oil and filter on a Renault Megane II. We start by opening the hood and unscrewing the oil filler cap. Then, we lift the car and remove the undercarriage protection. We then position a large basin under the drain hole to collect the used oil, which we will dispose of at an authorized center. Now, we change the oil filter. Again, we need a basin, but this time a smaller one. We clean the filter seat and lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with clean oil, then screw the new filter into place. We clean the oil pan drain area and insert a new plug and gasket. We put back the engine protection that we had previously removed. Now, we proceed with oil refilling. We insert a funnel and pour 4.8 liters of synthetic SAE 5W40 oil. Then, we check the oil level using the dipstick. We close the refill cap and run the engine for a few minutes. We recheck the oil level and add oil if necessary.

Replacing the Engine Battery
As this is a generic operation for all types of vehicles, there is no need to specify the make or model. Begin by unscrewing the nut of the clamp located at the base of the battery; loosen the nuts of the terminals on both poles, first removing the positive pole (be careful not to touch metal parts with the terminals). Once the battery is extracted, replace it with one of similar specifications (consult the user manual) and reposition it in its housing, reconnect the terminals starting with the positive to avoid sparks, and tighten the terminal nuts to secure them. The final step is to reapply the clamp and tighten the retaining nut at the base of the battery. by ScegliAuto More videos
