Instructions for Complete Cylinder Head Overhaul

Model: Seat Leon 1M - Years 1999-2005

After machining the cylinder head, use a straight edge and a feeler gauge to check the flatness of the surface; then proceed with the replacement of the valve guide seals using the appropriate arch clamp to release the half-shells of the stem seal (lubricate the new seal before inserting it); apply the new dowel pins to the turbocharger and the corresponding gaskets, also replacing the copper washer of the oil feed connection; place the new gasket on the exhaust manifold and install it on the cylinder head complete with turbine, inserting clean oil into the variable geometry; repeat the same operation on the intake manifold. At this point, check the flatness of the cylinder block, re-tap the threads to avoid debris entering the cylinders; check the clearance between the piston head and the block to prevent any knocking and insert the guide bushes to install the new cylinder head gasket and the cylinder head itself using new dowels. Once the cylinder head is secured, insert the new valve lifters and then the new camshaft, inserting the new oil seal from the timing side; finally install the pulleys, align the timing references, and insert the new timing belt; apply the new copper washers and also install the injectors and the lubrication pipe for the turbine.
