How to Reset the Airbag Light on Skoda Octavia

Model: Skoda Octavia 1U, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004

To reset the airbag light on Skoda cars (the procedure is also valid for Audi and Volkswagen cars), first ensure that the diagnostic interface light is on the dashboard. Now disconnect the onboard computer from the vehicle's electronic control unit. This is done by unplugging the connection found under the driver's seat. At this point, remove the small plastic cover located in the centre of the dashboard (as shown in the images) and connect your external computer to use the vehicle's diagnostic software. When you open the diagnostic program, select the button in the top left (corresponding to "Select Control Module"). In the next screen, enter the number "15" in the empty field below, as indicated in the images. Now select the button "Fault Codes - 02" in the top left, and finally, select the button "Clear Codes - 05" in the next screen. Click on "Done - Go Back" and you're done. Turn off the computer, disconnect it from the car, and reverse the steps to return to the starting point and check that the "diagnostic interface" light goes off.
