How to replace engine oil and filter on a Skoda Fabia 1

Let's see how to replace oil and filter on a Skoda Fabia MK1: open the hood and remove the engine cover, protect the throttle body with a clean cloth, lift the car and safely place it on two jack stands, remove the lower engine cover, place a basin under the oil pan and open the drain plug; let all the oil drain out (it will be disposed of properly, along with the filter, at an authorized center). Place a basin under the filter, unscrew its cover, remove the old filter from the cover, clean the cover seat thoroughly with degreaser spray, replace the gasket with a new one, install the new filter, lubricate the gasket with some clean oil, screw on the new filter cover, and tighten it to 25 Nm. Clean the drain plug area and tighten the new plug and gasket to 30 Nm. Replace the lower cover, lower the car, pour new oil through the top cap starting with 3 liters, then check the level. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes until the oil light goes off, then top up the oil if necessary, check for leaks, close the refueling cap, and replace the engine cover.
