How to Change the Cabin Air Filter on a Skoda Octavia

The procedure for the Skoda Octavia: the location is on the passenger side, and access is in the area under the glove compartment. Before starting, turn off the engine and keep the ventilation and air conditioning off; prepare a torch as the workspace is tight. To reach the filter, clear the area by removing the lower cover and unfastening the necessary fasteners, being careful not to force the clips. Once you locate the filter compartment, open the access flap and gently pull out the used filter: if extraction is difficult, bend it slightly as needed, avoiding dragging dirt into the cabin. If you notice leaves or dust at the edge of the housing, clean gently before inserting the replacement. Insert the new filter respecting the mounting direction indicated on the filter itself (airflow orientation), then properly close the flap and reassemble the passenger side cover, returning each fastener to its place. Finally, turn on the ventilation for a quick check: if there are no unusual noises and the airflow is regular, the replacement is complete.
