ABS Warning Light Sensor Anomaly

Model: Skoda Octavia 1U, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004

If the ABS warning light remains illuminated on the instrument panel, it indicates an anomaly and that the system is currently not functioning: to determine the cause of the problem, first perform a diagnostic check to identify the fault code stored by the control unit (any diagnostic tool will suffice). In this case, the detected fault code refers to a failure of the speed sensor on the right rear wheel. Proceed to remove the wheel and drum to assess the nature of the fault: there are indeed residues on the toothed wheel from which the sensor detects the speed; therefore, clean both the toothed wheel and the sensor seat thoroughly. After cleaning, install the new sensor and clear the fault memory.
