How to remove the left door panel of the Smart Forfour.

First of all it is necessary to remove the plastic covering that we find, inside, in correspondence with the external rearview mirror. This operation can be performed using a special plastic lever. At this point, unscrew the screws positioned respectively: on the side of the panel, in correspondence with the door lock; inside the housing of the opening handle, positioned behind it; and finally, behind the black rear-view mirror position adjuster (to be removed using the plastic lever), located near the door handle at the top. Remove the housing of the opening handle and proceed to release the clips that fit the panel in the lower part. Once this operation is finished, we can remove the panel from above and disconnect the electrical power cables of the switches and the adjustment cables of the mirror and that of the handle.
