How to Replace the Door Panel on a Smart Fortwo

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

Before you begin, open the door of your Smart Fortwo. Start by unscrewing and removing the Torx screws that secure the internal handle to the door panel, then remove the handle itself. Next, unscrew and remove the screws that secure the side storage compartment attached to the door panel, and then remove the compartment. At this point, unclip the door panel using a flathead screwdriver as leverage. Once you complete this step, you can remove the panel, finishing the disassembly. To fit the new panel, simply follow this procedure in reverse, and the replacement will be complete.
