Installation of F1 Steering Wheel on Smart Passion 450

To install the F1 steering wheel, which features paddle shifters behind the spokes, on the Smart 451, you will need the steering wheel and an interface control unit to connect under the original gear lever. After freeing the centre tunnel, lift the gear lever console and insert the interface control unit as a bypass, ensuring the cable that needs to reach behind the steering wheel passes through the dashboard. Once the control unit is positioned, unscrew the steering wheel securing pin to remove it and access the wiring to connect the wire from the control unit following the wiring diagram. After completing the connections, secure the F1 steering wheel with the paddles to the steering column and start the engine to verify its operation.
