How to reset the service light in a Subaru Legacy?

Model: Subaru Legacy BM, MK 5, BR - Years 2009-2014

The first step to reset the service light in a Subaru Legacy is to turn on the instrument panel. Next, press the handbrake lever and turn the key to start the engine. While holding the brake pedal, activate the rear window heater and switch on the position lights, then turn them off in the same order they were turned on (do this twice in a row) and finally release the brake pedal. The service light will start to flash. Count 30 seconds from when it turns off, then switch off the engine and restart it after at least 40 seconds to check if the procedure was successful.
