How to replace the front differential fluid on a Suzuki Grand Vitara.

What we need to perform this operation is a specific GL4 75W-90 fluid. It is essential to use GL-4 and not GL-5 because the latter can damage the synchronizers if used in certain transmissions. We need just under a liter. We recommend the Febi Bilstein code 21829 available on auto-doc.it for the price of 33.49 euros for the 0.917-liter bottle with free delivery. We will lift the front of the car and place it on two jack stands. There are two plugs: the fill plug (which we will be careful to unscrew first) and the drain plug (which we will only unscrew AFTER ensuring we can refill the tank). We let the old fluid drain out, clean the plug well, and fill with the new fluid using a pump: the correct level is achieved when the fluid overflows from the fill hole. We put the plug back in place and tighten it to 23Nm. We clean up any oil spills and lower the vehicle back down.
