How to DIY replace the cabin air filter in the Tesla Model S

On the Tesla Model S, replacing the cabin air filter is done by accessing the air intake assembly at the front: before starting, secure the vehicle, turn off the air conditioning, and work with the vehicle stationary and the hood open. Depending on the version, you may need to clear access by removing some plastic covers and possibly the front well liner to reach the filter access door. Once you locate the filter access cover, open it carefully and slide out the used filter without shaking it too much to avoid dropping dust and debris into the duct. Before inserting the replacement, check the installation direction indicated on the filter (usually marked by an airflow arrow) and follow it. Close the filter access cover properly, reposition the removed covers, and verify at the end that everything is in place without gaps or air leaks. Turn the air conditioning back on and check that the ventilation is normal and there are no unusual noises: if you hear vibrations or whistling, it usually indicates the filter is not seated properly or the cover is not closed well.
