The steering wheel covering operation can be carried out directly on board the car, without necessarily removing the steering wheel itself. The accessory kit includes the shaped cover, needle and thread. Before applying the coating, it is recommended to remove any cracks (or raised parts) present, to allow a perfect adherence of the new coating. Therefore, position the new upholstery in such a way as to perfectly align the spoke cover part and to match the union of the flaps perfectly in the center of the inside of the steering wheel. At this point, proceed with the sewing of the edges (which must be carried out with the single thread, that is, the two ends of the thread threaded into the needle must not be knotted but the knot must be made on only one of the two edges) following the holes present crosswise; one sector of the steering wheel must be sewn at a time (i.e. the one between the spokes: one longer at the top, and two other smaller lateral ones) and the length of the thread must be equal to twice the section of the circumference to be sewn to avoid unsightly joints must be made (then fold the thread in two and measure the length of the circumference section to be sewn between the two spokes); tie a knot at the end of the seam. Once the three portions of the steering wheel have been stitched, pass the spoke cover part under the airbag and glue them behind the spokes using the special adhesive already present.
