How to repair the starter motor of the Toyota Land Cruiser

In this video, the YouTuber provides us with a guide to diagnose a problem with the starter motor of the Toyota Land Cruiser (but obviously it also works for other cars). When he turned the key, he heard a "click" but the engine did not start. This "click" indicates that the battery has enough charge to power the relay; so the starter motor could be stuck or the starter relay could be faulty. We open the hood and locate the relay box: using the mirror diagram stamped on the cover of the box, we find the starter motor relay, indicated as "starter" or "starter relay" and remove it from its seat. We insert a metal paperclip into the two slots corresponding to the two main contacts of the relay (usually the larger ones). By connecting the two contacts, the relay is bypassed and power is sent directly to the starter motor. If it starts, then the relay is faulty, so just replace the relay; if the starter motor does not activate, it could be a faulty starter motor, battery problems, or damaged wiring.
