Removing the Bumper and Replacing HID Lamps

Model: Toyota Prius MK 1 - Years 2004-2009

This video shows how to remove the front bumper of a Toyota Prius to replace its HID (xenon) lamps. First, using a screwdriver, lift the clips and unscrew the screws securing the bumper. Also unscrew the three screws securing the panel under the bumper. You now have access to the front headlights, which can be removed by unscrewing the three securing screws. Once the headlight wiring is disconnected, simply unscrew the back of the headlight to access the bulb to be replaced. The bulb is secured with metal clips that need to be released. It is advisable to wear gloves when replacing the bulb. Finally, to reassemble everything, perform the reverse operations of those carried out so far.
