How to Replace the Boot Gas Struts on a Toyota Yaris

To replace the gas struts on the boot of a Toyota Yaris, open the tailgate and secure it to prevent it from lowering while you work on the struts. You will need to loosen the bolts that secure the strut to the body, near the seal. Perform the same operation to remove the bolts that secure the strut to the inside of the tailgate. Once all the bolts are removed, you can slide out the piston and replace it with a new spare part. The procedure is similar on the other side; after installation, you can close the tailgate and check the proper functioning of the system.
