In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the gas struts on a Toyota Yaris MK2 by following some simple steps: first, purchase the gas struts from an authorised auto parts dealer. Get into the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake. Lift the tailgate and support it with a jack, or ask someone to hold it up. Use a screwdriver to remove the support strut; once the first strut is removed, lubricate the gas strut mounting point with lubricant (WD-40); replace the old gas strut with the new one and install the new support strut; repeat the same procedure on the other side. Remove the jack and lower the tailgate.
