How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter on a Toyota Tacoma

To change the engine oil and filter on a Toyota Tacoma, open the hood and unscrew the oil filler cap. Next, using a container, place it under the oil drain plug located at the lowest point of the oil pan (under the vehicle). Once the plug is removed, allow the old oil to drain from the pan and unscrew the corresponding filter. Now, put a little oil inside the new filter and screw it into place. Now that all the used oil has been removed from the pan, you can screw in the drain plug. Tip: Clean the area around the plug and the filter to ensure that there are no leaks once the oil is filled. Now you can add engine oil (about 5 quarts of 5W-30). For proper oil measurement, check the level with the dipstick.
