This is a very simple operation that takes a few minutes and some manual skill. To loosen the latch, use two small crescent wrenches and grip the central nut on both sides to unscrew it. Now the latch is completely loose.

Tighten the bolt (not too much) to make it adhere to the latch. Next, screw the nut back on and tighten it, using the two crescent wrenches for assistance.

Now the parking brake is tight.
