How to Change the Fuel Filter on the Toyota Rav4

To change the fuel filter on the Toyota Rav4, you need to remove various components above the filter as it is located deep within the engine bay. Start by removing the air filter and its housing along with the pipe leading to the engine. Once the air filter housing is removed, the fuel filter will be located at the bottom right. Use a 3/4 spanner to hold the nut on the lower pipe of the filter (BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE CONNECTOR), while using a 14mm spanner to loosen it. Once loosened, you can remove the spanners and proceed with your hands. Next, remove the upper nut; to do this, hold the lower nut with the 3/4 spanner and use a 17mm spanner to unscrew the bolt on the upper pipe. Now you can take the new filter, screw in the bolt for the upper pipe, tightening it while holding the lower bolt with the 3/4 spanner. Reinsert it into its housing, ensuring the fuel guide enters the bottom of the filter without bending it. Before that, insert the lower nut, holding the nut attached to the filter with the 3/4 spanner, tighten the lower nut first by hand, then with the 14mm spanner. Finally, reassemble the air filter housing.
