To replace the cabin air filter on a Toyota 4Runner, open the glove compartment located on the passenger side. Inside the glove compartment, there will be a rectangular cover that needs to be removed to access the filter housing.

The filter can then be extracted from its location and replaced with a new part. After the new filter is inserted, seal it by reattaching the rectangular cover; you can also close the glove compartment.
