To replace the battery in a Toyota Rav 4, open the bonnet to access the engine compartment, so the device can be located. The old battery is situated at the front of the engine compartment, near the right headlamp. At this point, loosen the bolts securing the battery in its housing and disconnect the locking crossbar. By also removing the clamps connected to the terminals, the battery can be extracted from its housing and replaced with a new part, which should be installed properly.
