Instructions for Replacing Spark Plugs

Model: Toyota Prius MK 1 - Years 2004-2009

It is recommended to perform this maintenance with the engine cold to handle the spark plugs safely. The spark plugs are located at the rear of the engine, and to access them, you need to move the relay box. Once at the spark plug location, disconnect the leads from the ignition coils, unscrew the fixing bolts of the coils, and remove them. Blow around the spark plug holes to clear any debris and unscrew the spark plugs; using a piece of tube to guide them in is a good solution. Insert the new spark plugs without exceeding the torque, reconnect the leads, secure the ignition coils, and reconnect the plugs.
