What to Do if Your 12V Battery is Flat on a Toyota Prius

If your Toyota Prius has a flat battery - the 12V battery, not the traction battery - it means the vehicle remains locked, the remote control does not work, and you are locked out. Fortunately, Toyota includes a courtesy key in the remote control that allows you to at least enter the vehicle. In fact, the battery is located in the boot, which does not have a mechanical key. However, you do not need to remove the rear seats to restart the car. You can also access it from the front bonnet - which can be opened from the cabin - where in the fuse box, located on the right side, corresponding to the driver's side, you will find the positive terminal of the battery. For the negative terminal, any ground point will suffice. Connect a battery or booster, and the car will start and run.
