Where to Find the Fuse Boxes on a Toyota Prius

On the Toyota Prius, there are two main fuse boxes: one in the cabin and one in the engine compartment. Before touching any fuses, ensure the car is completely off, with the key away from the vehicle, and work calmly; on a hybrid, avoid working on orange components and wiring, and never force the covers. The internal fuse box is located under the steering wheel, at the lower part of the dashboard on the driver's side. To reach it, position yourself in the pedal area and locate the small access flap/panel: once removed, the fuse holder is immediately visible. After checking or replacing the fuse, close the flap ensuring all clips are properly engaged to avoid vibrations. The fuse box in the engine compartment is housed in a black plastic box with a lid, located near the wheel arch and the main components of the engine compartment. Open the bonnet, locate the box, and unclip the lid without using excessive force; the internal side of the lid often has a reference diagram, useful for identifying the correct position. Once finished, securely close the lid and check that it is perfectly seated to protect the fuses from water and dirt.
