Instructions for Replacing Front Brake Pads

Model: Toyota Prius MK 1 - Years 2004-2009

To replace the front brake pads, start by positioning the vehicle on suitable axle stands and removing the front wheel; before removing the caliper, pry between the disc and the pads to retract the caliper piston enough to remove it; then unscrew the caliper mounting bolts, remove the caliper from its seat, and slide out the old pads; clean the sliding plates, apply anti-vibration pads to the new pads, insert them into their respective seats, and install the caliper after fully retracting the piston; pump the brake pedal until it provides the correct resistance and pay attention during the first braking.
