How to Reset the ECU of the Toyota Vios

You may have experienced starting your car only to find a warning light illuminated. Some of these lights are not critical and can be annoying, such as the generic engine malfunction light. To remove it, you can perform a "power reset", which means resetting the ECU of your vehicle; today, we will focus on the Toyota Vios. The first step is to disconnect the car battery. Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal, using a socket spanner to completely eliminate the current from the vehicle. The battery should remain disconnected for at least 10 seconds, and the terminals for 2 seconds. Then reconnect everything. The next step is to try starting the car to check if the warning light has turned off. If the light remains on, there may be a serious fault that needs to be investigated.
