How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Toyota Rav4

Model: Toyota Rav 4 Xa20, MK 2 - Years 2000-2006
Part: Timing belt

To replace the timing belt on a Toyota Rav4, you need to remove the engine from its bay to access the left side of the engine block. Here, you will need to detach the plastic cover under which the pulleys and the timing belt are located: by loosening the nut that secures the tensioner pulley, you can reduce its tension and completely remove it, replacing it with a new spare part. You can then remount the plastic cover and reinstall the engine in its bay.
