To replace the rear shock absorber on a Toyota 4Runner, lift the vehicle to access the bolts securing the corresponding rear wheel, then remove the wheel completely. Once the wheel is removed, you can access the bolts that secure the shock absorber at the top and bottom.

After loosening the bolts, remove the shock absorber and replace it with a new one. Secure the new shock absorber properly, then reinstall the wheel and fasten it with the bolts.
