How to Change the Battery in the Toyota Prius Remote

To change the battery in the Toyota Prius remote, note that the remote has a narrower top and a wider bottom. The wider part contains the security key, which you should remove first. You can use the key to split the remote shell in two (however, a small screwdriver or plastic spatula is recommended). The shell contains the chip, which also houses the button battery. The battery is a CR 2032, which you can find for a few pounds at any supermarket or newsagent. Remove it with the small screwdriver, and replace it with a new one, paying attention to the polarity. Close the shell, insert the security key, and you're done.
