Checking the engine oil level is certainly a good habit that allows you to monitor any oil consumption. It is recommended to perform this check not only before embarking on a long journey or when the warning light on the dashboard comes on, but perhaps during every vehicle wash. Open the engine compartment, locate the dipstick that allows you to check the engine oil level, and wait a few minutes after turning off the engine to allow all the oil to drain into the sump. Then, extract the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, and remove it again to check where the oil marks between the minimum and maximum marks (there is one litre of oil between the minimum and maximum).
