Having safe access under the car, to change the filter and engine oil you must first remove the clip to open the plastic bulkhead. Then release the safety catch of the oil filter and unscrew it, taking care of any oil leaks. Then unscrew the screw on the oil pan and let the oil out. Then screw the replacement filter back on, then insert the catch as well. Also tighten the drain screw again after the sump has completely emptied and close the protective bulkhead. Now proceed adding new oil until the level on the dipstick is between the two max and min marks. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, allowing the oil to circulate completely. Then check the level with the engine off and add more oil if necessary. Car model: Toyota Prius Year: 2009-11
