To replace the timing belt on a Toyota RAV 4, open the bonnet to access the left side of the engine block. Then, loosen the bolts securing the front right wheel and remove it along with the corresponding wheel arch.

This will allow you to locate and loosen the central nut of the tensioner pulley, reducing the tension on the belt and removing it from its housing. Now, you can fit the new belt around the pulleys and check that everything functions correctly.
