The ECO mode is now present in many vehicles, the acronym stands for "Economic Mode". This mode is designed to help the driver consume less fuel by reducing the acceleration of the car and limiting the response of the accelerator; when the accelerator is pressed, the car will be slower. The ECO mode changes the way the transmission functions by keeping the car in higher gears for longer periods, avoiding burning more fuel.
