This video raises a crucial point that is often overlooked: the Eco mode is a "software map" that modifies the behavior of the engine, gearbox, and auxiliary services to maximize efficiency and reduce consumption, and it does so using three modes: with a more "lazy" response of the accelerator (meaning that we have to press the pedal more to obtain the same power); intelligent management of services (such as reducing the performance of the air conditioning); and in cars with automatic transmission, it tends to keep the gears long as much as possible. Therefore, it is ideal on highways or flat country roads, or in cities with smooth traffic. However, it should be avoided on hills, when overtaking, or when driving in a sporty and dynamic manner.
